John Cena rarely finds himself in hot water, so when such event does occur, everyone seems to be pay attention.
Well, one of the rare occasions the wrestler-turned-actor found himself in a spot of bother was over cars.
The WWE star is a big car junkie, having built up quite the collection over the years.
Come 2021, the actor was said to have several cars in his lineup, despite upsetting automobile giant Ford back in the day.
His resume is pretty impressive too, with Cena having luxury cars like a 2009 Chevy Corvette ZRI, a 1970 Plymouth Road Runner Superbird and his infamous ‘Corvette InCenaRator’, according to GQ.

The car that got Cena into quite a bit of trouble however was the 2017 Ford GT.
The Ricky Stanicky actor purchased the car upon the year of its release, which was reportedly priced at over $450,000 at the time.
Ford only produced a few hundred of the supercars each year, so lucky owners of the GT have to follow strict rules.
It’s said that the Ford GT owners were ‘hand-picked customers’ and are chosen through an application process.
One of the rules you have to follow as one of the special customers is that you can’t resell the vehicle for at least two years after purchase, but Cena sold his just a few months after buying it.
Clearly wasn’t a fan.
As Cena sold the car so soon, he violated the sales agreement and Ford wasn’t particularly pleased about it.
Making things worse, the wrestler reportedly made a profit from the sale and soon had a lawsuit on his hands.

The suit stated, as per a 2017 Forbes article, that Cena ‘unfairly made a large profit from the unauthorized resale flip of the vehicle, and Ford has suffered additional damages and losses, including, but not limited to, loss of brand value, ambassador activity and customer goodwill due to the improper sale’.
The car manufacturer proceeded to sue Cena for $500,000.
By the following year, Ford and Cena settled the suit out of court.
They agreed on a monetary settlement – the amount of which wasn’t disclosed – outside of an official court setting.
The money wasn’t going straight into Ford’s pocket, however, but to a ‘worthy charity’ instead.
Cena also issued an apology as he said in a statement: “I love the Ford GT and apologise to Ford, and encourage others who own the car to respect the contract.
“I am pleased we could resolve this matter outside of court, and that a worthy charity will benefit from one of the most iconic cars in the world.”

John Cena made a splash during his return to WrestleMania, but one thing was leaving fans a little distracted.
Cena took to the ring with Dwayne The Rock Johnson in a face off which left fans delighted.
The main event saw Cena take out Bloodline member Solo Sikoa, with Cody Rhodes beating Roman Reigns to win the WWE Undisputed Championship.
Fans were left delighted when legends The Rock and The Undertaker joined in on the action, staring down Cena in a brilliant moment.
But amidst all the glorious mayhem, some fans found themselves distracted by one factor in John Cena’s appearance.
Many of them took to social media to share thoughts on what they could see.

This was Cena’s bald spot which was visible on the back of his head in his slicked back hair.
One person wrote: ”John Cena is somehow more bald than The Rock.”
A second wrote: “John Cena think all that hair gone hide that bald spot.”
A third said: “Let’s not lose sight of the fact that John Cena kept trying to cover his bald spot by running his fingers through his hair. We don’t care boo. We can’t see you, therefore, we can’t see your bald spot.”
Cena has previously addressed his bald spot on WWE.

Last year in a slanging match in the ring, Austin Theory taunted: “I’m not going anywhere just like that bald spot on your head ain’t going anywhere.”
Cena replied: “I would so much rather be bald than have them pipe in fake crowd noises for my matches because nobody cares.”
The actor recently had people rolling in the aisles during a hilarious skit at the Oscars where he appeared to present the award for best costume design.
Except of course, the twist was that the wrestler appeared onstage completely ‘naked’, with only the envelope containing the award covering his modesty.

This made actually opening the envelope rather difficult of course, but fortunately they cut away to nominees while someone brought the WWE champion and actor a curtain so he could announce the winner.
In his speech, he highlighted how costume is very ‘important’, a point which was only reinforced by his appearance.
Of course, Cena was not actually naked during his appearance at the Oscars, but only gave the clever appearance of being so.
Behind the scene snaps showed that the wrestler was actually wearing a loincloth which had been matched to his skin tone, and covered his privates and his backside.
Host Jimmy Kimmel later explained: “[The producers] kept demanding that we make the envelope bigger and bigger, but first of all I have to say congratulations, John Cena.”

John Cena has explained why parenthood is simply not for him as he opened up in a new interview with Shannon Sharpe.
Cena tied the knot with his wife Shay Shariatzadeh in 2020, after splitting from his first wife, Elizabeth Huberdeau, in 2012.
He’s played the role of a dad previously thanks to movies like 2018’s Blockers, but he never welcomed kids in his real relationships, and it’s a decision he’s happy with.

The actor explained his thoughts about having kids when he appeared on the ‘Club Shay Shay’ podcast this month, when the host made reference to a previous report in which Cena had said he ‘didn’t want kids’.
“Where are you on kids now?” Shay asked.
Cena, who’s now 47 years old, candidly explained he doesn’t want kids, though he admitted it can be tough when ‘a lot of why we’re here is to reproduce’.
He continued: “I have a certain curiosity about life, and I also know the investment that it takes.
“And my biggest fear is, as someone who’s driven – many times stubborn, and selfish – I try to approach the world with kindness and curiosity, but I don’t think I’m personally ready, nor will I ever be, to invest the time it needs to be a great parent because I want to live life for all it is.”

Cena went on to explain that he still feels he has ‘a lot to do’ in life, and he referred to Shariatzadeh as he said he has a ‘wonderful partner’ he wants to share those moments with.
The WWE star said he and his wife have had ‘open conversations’ about having children, and ‘share the same values’ on the matter.
“It’s a tough subject to talk about because it immediately puts you in a category, and we can’t help but judge,” Cena said.
However, he expressed belief that everyone is ‘OK living their life’.
“This is not like a knee-jerk reaction. I’ve thought long and hard about this,” he added.
“My opinions only hit that grey area during emotionally difficult times,” he said. “I’m very happy in where I stand. I have a lot of joy and fulfilment in my life and that’s pretty much where I stand on that.”
Cena was praised by fans for his approach to the matter after he opened up on Club Shay Shay, with one fan commenting: “I respect his decision. No person that doesn’t want kids should ever have them!!!”
Another added: “For him to be truthful within himself is the most important thing especially dealing with having kids.”

A resurfaced clip of John Cena’s house rules and contract is leaving people gobsmacked.
The professional wrestler and actor once appeared on TV show WWE Total Divas alongside his ex-fiancée fellow WWE wrestler Stephanie Nicole Chigvintsev – known professionally as Nikki Garcia – who’s since retired.
And the reality show offered an insight into Cena’s personal life and controversial house rules.
A clip from an episode shared to X states: “John Cena on ‘Total Divas’ delivered some of the funniest and most iconic moments on TV ever. Let’s take a look back at history.”
The footage reveals the moment Garcia got back from the gym and began to get changed, dumping her workout gear in a storage stool.
However, it doesn’t take long for Cena to quickly hop off the bed and come over to interfere, muttering under his breath: “This isn’t going to be good.”
Before Garcia has time to hop in the shower, Cena quickly opens the storage stool and fishes out her dirty workout gear.
John Cena listed some of his house rules on ‘WWE Total Divas’. (E!)
He says: “Hey, Nicole… Hey, these are workout things. The smelly clothes hamper is over here. And the nice clothes hamper is over here.”
Cena then transfers the clothes to another storage stool right next to it, before grabbing some ‘smelly socks’ and demonstrating putting them in the correct hamper, before pretending to make the hampers speak.
And while this rule may be fair enough, Cena’s pet peeves don’t stop there.
Garcia reveals Cena allegedly gave her ‘a paper’ for her to sign, which ‘refers to [her] as a guest’.
She continues: “It says you agree I may pursue monetary damages or other equitable relief to compensate me for any loss he may suffer for me being a guest to the home.”
Garcia claimed she was made to sign a contract. (E!)
And also says if Cena asks her to vacate the home, she must do so and ‘remove any or all items’ she brought with her within ’48 hours of [his] request’.
Another moment shows Cena talking to dinner guests about ‘obeying the rules’ and wearing ‘a clean set of shoes’ and to ‘respect the house as if it’s [their] own,’ alongside the tradition of women ‘retreating to the drawing room’ and men ‘to the cigar room’ before all gathering for ‘morning coffee together, an evening fire outside’ and informing them of when trash day is.
“John has a lot of rules, of course I know that better than anyone because I’ve had to sign a contract to live in this home. This is his baby,” Garcia resolves.
And it hasn’t taken long for fans of the WWE star to flood to the comments of the post to weigh in on his strict rules.
One X user said: “That contract is crazy,” as a second wrote: “A house pre nup is wild.”
However, others defended the wrestler.
A user wrote: “It’s his house his rules, I like it, he’s an organized clean man and he wants his home to represent that.”
“He was right about the laundry thing tho,” another added.
And a third commented: “Bro there’s no way this s**t was real if cena actually acts like dis bro.”

John Cena stunned the audience at the Oscars with his announcement for the Best Costume Design.
The wrestler and actor did a bit with host Jimmy Kimmel about a streaker at the awards, before announcing the award ‘naked’.
Take a look at the hilarious skit below:
Viewers were left in stitches at the bit, which saw Cena draped in a curtain as he announced the award.
The curtain was necessary, what with the envelope seemingly being the only thing protecting Cena’s modesty.
Things got started as Kimmel made reference to an infamous incident in Oscars history.
At the 46th Academy Awards in 1974 a streaker called Robert Opel ran across the stage during the ceremony.
Kimmel then pointedly repeated a line about how crazy it would be if a streaker ran across the stage right now.
A sheepish Cena then could be seen appearing behind the set, or at least, his top half could.
The pair did a bit with Cena saying that they were going ahead with the bit as Cena feigned reluctance to do the joke.
ABC
Kimmel pointed out to Cena that he ‘wrestles naked’, with Cena responding that he actually wrestles in pants, to which Kimmel quipped that was ‘worse’.
Eventually, Cena took to the stage revealing that he was completely ‘naked’, with just the envelope seeming to conceal his modesty.
After hesitating at the mic, Cena pointed out that he would not be able to open the envelope without exposing himself to the assembled audience, and everyone watching at home.
In a hilarious reference to the award for Best Costume Design, he also pointed out that costumes are very important, to laughs from the audience.

The show then cut away to the nominations for best costume design. These were Barbie, Poor Things, Killers of the Flower Moon, Oppenheimer, and Napoleon.
Ultimately the award went to Poor Things costume design, with costume designer Holly Waddington taking to the stage to accept the award.
Kimmel’s hosting has already been the subject of controversy after he jabbed at Robert Downey Jr.
The comedian said: “This is the highest point of Robert Downey Jr’s long and illustrious career. Well, one of the highest points.”
Downey Jr. could be seen giving Kimmel a look which was clearly less than impressed, with some people joking that they were relieved he didn’t emulate Will Smith after he slapped Chris Rock.
