Jocelyn Wildenstein aka ‘Catwoman’ sadly died aged 84. Her partner, Lloyd Klein has broken his silence on her passing.
The 57-year-old fashion designer, shared that he found the Swiss socialite on New Year’s Eve after she passed away while taking a nap.
The couple have been engaged since 2017. They had taken a joint nap and planned to wake up before midnight to bring in the New Year together.
Sadly, when Klein woke up, Wildenstein had tragically passed away.
Speaking to People, he said: ‘She died in her sleep very peacefully,’
‘It’s very sad. It’s extremely sad. It’s extremely sad to lay down with your other half that I know for 21 years and waiting to celebrate New Year’s Eve and to find her cold.’
‘We had a nice happy hour the same night and we were getting ready for the new year, and we took a little nap just to look good before getting dressed,’.
Her cause of death was a condition called phlebitis, he said. A health condition that caused a blood clot to form and block one or multiple veins, usually in the legs.
The 57-year-old said: ‘Because of her phlebitis, the legs were very, very swollen, and the blood was blocked, and there was no oxygen in the brain,’.
‘And we were having a nap and when I wake up, I said, “Jocelyn, we have to wake up, we have to get dressed,” and she was cold and she was dead.’
He continued: ‘It’s very sad. It’s extremely sad.’ He added that her health had been ‘perfect’ prior to her death.
Gaining her nickname thanks to extensive plastic surgery that made her resemble a cat, the socialite had been celebrating the New Year at the Ritz only a few days before.
He said: ‘We were at the Ritz two days ago,’. ‘We were having dinner. Before that, we had come for Fashion Week at Chanel. Everything was good, everything was good.’
‘We were at the Ritz. We were having parties. She was in great shape. She was in impeccable health,’.
