On May 4, 2015, Treadway, residing in Highlands County, Florida, utilized the Pizza Hut app on her phone to place an order for a small hand-tossed pepperoni pizza. Accompanying her order was a note directed to the store’s management, indicating that she was being held hostage and urgently requesting assistance.
